Liuzza’s By The Track is your quintessential New Orleans, neighborhood joint.
The restaurant, as it exists today, has been family-owned and operated since 1996. The building, located just off Esplanade Avenue near City Park, is a historical landmark, dating back to the 1930s.
LBTT is just a few quick steps from the New Orleans Fairgrounds, the site of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, making us the unofficial pre-JazzFest headquarters. Festival goers come from far and wide from across the globe to enjoy a Bloody Mary and practice beers on their way into the Fest. On the way out, they come back for a cup of Gumbo and our signature BBQ Shrimp Po-Boy.
LBTT serves genuine New Orleans staples, the recipes of which have been passed down from generation to generation. In an industry where employee turnover is the norm, we have been extremely fortunate to constantly have familiar faces behind the bar and in the kitchen throughout the years, some dating back to when it all began.
LBTT truly is a New Orleans treasure. It is a melting pot often filled with neighborhood natives, local legends, Fairgrounds workers and patrons, NOPD officers, construction crews, local magistrates, virologists, you name it. The corner by the Track is a vibrant place where no matter who you are, you are welcomed.
